World Environment Day 2021
World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated annually on 5 June and is the United Nations’ principal vehicle for encouraging awareness and action for the protection of the environment. The theme of this year’s World Environment Day is Ecosystem Restoration. Pakistan will act as global host of the day.
Ecosystem restoration means assisting in the recovery of ecosystems that have been degraded or destroyed, as well as conserving the ecosystems that are still intact. Healthier ecosystems, with richer biodiversity, yield greater benefits such as more fertile soils, bigger yields of timber and fish, and larger stores of greenhouse gases.
Here at Klean we take a holistic approach to understanding and managing the environmental footprint of our products —from sourcing raw materials to manufacturing, packaging, shipping, daily use, and end-of-life disposal. We call this Measuring What Matters.
To do this, we use a lifecycle assessment process and other tools that uncover hidden impacts and track our progress year over year. This information allows us to identify improvements that can lower a Klean Kanteen’s overall environmental impact without sacrificing performance.
